Maria lives and works in Wilmington, Delaware. She is an adjunct Professor of Fine Arts at Wilmington University, New Castle Delaware. Her prints and paintings received distinctions from the National League of American Pen Women; the Studio Group, Inc.; the Pennsylvania Sketch Club (Grumbacher Gold Medal); the Chester County Art Association (Excellence Awards); and the Da Vinci Art Alliance (Silver Medal).

The Delaware Division of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts awarded her an Individual Professional Fellowship in Works on Paper. Maria received a residency in printmaking at the Vermont Studio Center. She is a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists, N.Y., and an Arts and Letters member of the National League of American Pen Women. She exhibits with the National League of American Pen Women, the National Association of Women Artists, N.Y., the Howard Pyle Studio, the Da Vinci Art Alliance and the Chester County Art Association.

Maria's solo exhibitions include two at the Delaware Division of the arts, Carvel Building, Wilmington; Wilmington College, New Castle, Delaware and the Rehoboth Art League, Rehoboth, Delaware. Her Vizart Studio was chosen twice for the Delaware Art Museum's Home and Studio Tour. Her work is in private and public collections, including the permanent collctions of the University of Delaware (2), the Delaware Division of Libraries (2) and the Zimmerli Museum of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
